We are looking for a ‘Senior Operations Lead’ to deliver operational projects working closely with the European Operations Director. This role will be based centrally in the UK and work collaboratively with the local UK manufacturing team whilst also traveling to established European locations when required.
The Role
Previous experience in World Class Manufacturing techniques will be called upon to lead various initiatives designed to take our plants to World Class standards. You will work alongside the manufacturing teams and the Manufacturing Analysts in ensuring all transactions are completed correctly by identifying areas of opportunity and corrections required as needed for continuous improvement initiatives. You will also support the commissioning of new equipment and ensure the smoothest possible implementation in line with agreed timescales and budgets
Responsibilities
- Assist plant manufacturing leaders and production personnel in ensuring the highest possible output at the lowest achievable cost and enable the delivery of short- and long-term operational targets and objectives.
- Ensure that all activities regarding the manufacturing environment are in conformance with internal and external standards.
- Ensure the implementation of actions from internal and external audits with a focus on preventative forward-looking strategies for compliance
- Coach and mentor, the manufacturing population to meet expectations and all other business reporting requirements to ensure reporting delivers what is required.
- The installation of automation and capacity expansion projects
- Verify and manage the overall labour usage against the standard required and review SAP confirmation variances
- Advise management teams in each business unit of any discrepancies observed work with the team to bring issues under control minimising/eliminating losses and inefficiency at all costs.
- Ensure a team approach, regarding productivity, maintenance, and hygiene of the manufacturing areas.
- Ensure that all production activities are in conformance with the product specifications. Continuously manage the quality of the product and materials to comply with product specifications, generate, create, and implement action plans as needed for continuous improvement.
What we are looking for
- A Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering
- Strong food manufacturing knowledge
- A good standard of both written and oral English.
- Computer literacy
- Excellent collaborative and coaching skills
- An understanding of MRP, SAP, would be advantageous
- You will need to demonstrate an energetic and positive ‘can do’ approach to man-management and be ‘hands-on’
- A collaborative, team-based approach is key in this role.
